Page To Remember

On the first day of preschool Ryan made his handprints on a piece of paper and then they attached a cute little poem. It wasn't that I didn't like what they had done with it at school I just wanted to make it fit inside his scrapbook. So I retyped the poem in smaller font and cut the handprints out. I used the picture of Ryan on his first day with him wearing his lovely beanie. What a day to remember!

Scrappin' Faster!

Here is the page that I did for Miss Tay with her guitar she got for her birthday. I chose to be VERY simple on the page since the paper was so busy. The bottome right hand coner I used rub-ons to describe our Taylor. She is a very smart girl who finds out of the ordinary things to try. No one in our family plays the guitar and I am not even sure where Tay got the idea of wanting to learn. But here she is practicing away on her own time and loving it!

Ideas + Perfectionist= Little Progress

I have realized I am more of a perfectionist than I ever thought I was! I started this page the day after I finished Ryan's page on his motorcycle. I laid pics one way, then another, walked away for a while, come back moved things around again, so on and so on and so on! Finally last night I sat down and said to Will "I am finishing this page TONIGHT!"

While working on this page I have come up with about 4 or 5 other pages I want to get started on also. But the rate I have done two pages, these others won't be done until Thanksgiving!

You can't see Mia's shirt very well but it says: Are you sure these are MY relatives?

Part of my problem is that I have all these creative ideas in my head but don't exactly know how to get them down on the page! That is where my very, very, creative and artistic mother and grandmother would come in handy!!!!

If you notice I stamped Beightol on individual "things" that are suppose to look like marshmallows. To help that along I went out and got a large tumbleweed from the yard and broke off a few different sized sticks. Once I found one that was long enough I cut slits in each side of the letters and wove the stick through each letter. My hope was to have it look like marshmallows on a stick being roasted over the camp fire. ?? Again, great idea in my head; not so sure it ended up looking the same on paper. ?
Well, this one is at least finished and in the book. On the my next page(s)...

Expensive But Worth It

I guess that title could go two ways... The expense of Ryan riding a motorcycle would be one but the one I was meaning is my new hobby: Scrapbooking!

With all this extra time at home, I have known that I was going to need a few new hobbies to keep myself busy. So, not only have I taken up Blogging but also now I am trying my hand at Scrapbooking. I know you are all thinking the same thing Will is..."Why didn't you take up this expensive hobby when you had an income?" But it has become a way for me 1. to be creative and 2. do something with ALL the blasted pictures we have on the computer!

Ryan went out to Dick and Cheryl's last weekend and got to spend some time on his favorite thing...his motorcycle. So, yesterday I spent time putting together a page for Ryan's 1st Love.

I had decided I didn't want to journal on this page. I wanted the pictures to speak for themselves. Once I had placed and tact the pictures I thought I was done, but ended up with a blank corner. So, I got on the computer and printed off a piece of paper that said "racing" over and over. I cut that out, mounted it on red cardstock like Ryan's pictures and then put the Thor sticker on along with a Fox logo that I printed off of Google Images.

I don't think it is too bad for my first page. I found it to be a lot of fun. I can see how one could get REALLY caught up on one page and not get a lot of "scrappin' " done in a day. I had so much fun arranging and then re-arranging the pictures until it just felt right.

Scrappin' one page at a time...
